Promo Hunters 30: Opening Ceremony Attire at the Winter Olympics
It’s that time of year again where athletes from across the world come together to see who is the best of the best! The 2026 Winter Olympics, hosted in northern Italy, will take place on February 6, and the only thing we’re thinking about is what outfits the world’s best athletes will walk out in. Opening ceremony outfits provide a first impression for the upcoming games, showcasing the country’s nationalism and heritage through fashion. In this installment of Promo Hunters, we’re dressing like the pros and highlighting this year’s upcoming opening ceremony looks, and where to get your hands on them. From tailored sweaters to unique puffer vests, let’s see the looks taking the international stage in Italy.
Team USA / Ralph Lauren
First, it’s time to rep the home team with Team USA. This year’s opening ceremony uniforms are designed by the iconic American brand, Ralph Lauren. For nearly 20 years, Ralph Lauren has dressed America’s greatest athletes in classic Ralph Lauren motifs: tailored trousers and blazers, polos & sweaters, and red, white, and blue colors that scream Americana. For the 2026 Winter Olympics, this year’s athletes are rocking the official Team USA Opening Ceremony Toggle Coat, Sweater, and Wool Pants. Not to mention each athlete will rock an official Olympic Earflap Hat, Boots, and Belt.
Team Canada / Lululemon
Next, let’s shine a light on our neighbors to the North with Team Canada. For the third Olympics in a row, Lululemon is taking the reins on dressing Canada’s finest athletes. The company spent two years consulting with athletes to meet their needs, focusing on innovation and inclusion while delivering function and style. This year’s opening ceremony outfits are an ode to Canadian pride, thanks to the Team Canada Convertible Quilted Wrap Vest, a multi-use vest with the country’s iconic maple leaf on the front. Underneath the vest will be the optional Nylon Taffeta Insulated Shacket. The primary layer will be the seamless Mock Neck Base Layer. For bottoms, athletes will don either the Cold Weather Straight-Leg Pant (in a men’s cut) or the Cold Weather Flared Pant (in a women’s cut). And finally, for shoes, you can expect to rock the Team Canada Waterproof Winter boots.
Team Great Britain / Ben Sherman
Finally, let’s take a look at Team Great Britain, which will be designed by well-known British designer Ben Sherman. This marks Ben Sherman’s fourth consecutive Olympics working with Team GB, offering the brand a platform to showcase their designs on the global stage. This year’s looks take inspiration from classic British tailoring, blending heritage designs with contemporary silhouettes. Great Britain’s opening ceremony outfit will feature a Convertible Car Coat & Gilet layered over a wool Crew Neck Jumper with the Union Jack down the center. Smart sweat joggers trimmed with tonal Union Flag tape, an oversized scarf, coordinating hat, and Vibram-soled winter boots will complete the ensemble.
