Cheering On Your Success and Achieving Your Goals: What Tisha Scoffins from Team Sales Ltd. Learned During ThreeSixty
As a member of the Facilisgroup Community, our Distributor Partners have the opportunity to enroll in our Amplifi courses, which provide tips and training on how to become a successful rep in the promotional products industry. One of those courses is ThreeSixty, a comprehensive onboarding and sales development course for established sales reps ready to sharpen their skills, grow their book of business, and take their performance to the next level. They spend five months sharpening their sales skills with help from our Director of Professional Development and Professional Best Friend, Terri Harland.
In our series, Amplifi Highlights, we spoke with Tisha Scoffins, Brand Manager for Team Sales Ltd and a ThreeSixty graduate. She was introduced to the company via a friend when Team Sales was looking for more sales reps. Learn how ThreeSixty helped shape Scoffins into the rep she is today and what the program taught her about achieving her goals.
The Folio: How did you find your way to Amplifi? What made you want to do the ThreeSixty course?
Tisha Scoffins, Brand Manager, Team Sales Ltd.: I started with Team Sales Ltd. in November of 2019. And when I started, they immediately signed me up for the sales course that was offered at the time, which I believe was just Electrifi.
So, I did it right away. I achieved $1,000,000 in my second full year of sales, which for a Canadian is a lot harder than it is for an American. Our market is definitely a lot smaller than the American market, and that was through the end of COVID and everything.
I’d gone to Vegas, and I felt like I was in a little bit of a rut. A big contract that accounted for a huge part of my sales had ended. I was just sort of struggling to get out of my head and get that back. And then when the ThreeSixty course popped up in an email, I was like, “I’m doing it.” So, I sent my application in to Terri to take the ThreeSixty course. I think that just got me back out of my head and reminded me that I can do it. And I just have to use the system and get it done.
The Folio: What’s the single biggest win you’ve had since you’ve completed the course that you can connect to Amplifi and the ThreeSixty course?
Scoffins: Just having that confidence of just putting myself out there. Obviously, you’re not going to win everything. I mean, it’d be ludicrous to think that you would, but just putting myself out there and also knowing that Terri is there in the background, not really in the background. She’s kind of like peeking over your shoulder with encouragement and to celebrate you.
I don’t remember what month it was last year, but it was the single biggest month that I’d ever had. And I can’t even think of what the dollar figure was. I actually sent Terri a message. I said, “Hey, I think you need to go in and look at my stats right now. Like, where am I at?” And I got this message back from her 15 minutes later. She said, “What the heck did you do?”
She’s the biggest cheerleader, and she’s going to be right there celebrating your wins. Or if you’ve got something difficult, you’re trying to work through, you’ve got your team to go through it with you, but Terri is just a different voice and someone you can rely on for that support. She’s actually one of the biggest parts of it.
The Folio: Where do you feel more confident now in your sales process after completing ThreeSixty and having some time away from it, compared to before you started it?
Scoffins: Every time somebody reaches out to a prospect, does a proposal, and then, all of a sudden, you get ghosted, it’s really hard on your mind and your confidence. But I think part of the program just reminded you that you’re not going to win every job. Do the best that you can, and if you don’t win it, you don’t win it. It’s not the end of the world. I think when I changed my thinking around to “I’m not going to win every job. I’m not going to win every client. I’m not going to make every client happy all the time. It’s just not possible.” Once I took that step back and realized that it just made the whole thing so much simpler.
The Folio: Was there something you wish you had known sooner?
Scoffins: I guess some of the different processes that we could use to make our role simpler. One of the things that we talked about was collections, for example. So, I’ve now encouraged the guys that I work with to go in and put collections together so that, at the drop of a hat, if somebody’s looking for something, you’ve got your favorite hats right there. I think that was kind of like one of those things that I didn’t really think about, but then when we discussed it, I realized, oh, this will make my life simpler. So, that was that was a huge win.
The Folio: And final question, finish this phrase: “Because of Amplifi, I realized _____”
Scoffins: That I will always achieve my goals. I have my little notebook and write my day. So, like, here’s today. This is where I’ve started. I’ve got my goals. I break them out. I make it easy.
